Watercolor Poetry

This workshop is held each Sunday morning over the course of 4 weeks and is hosted on the newly created UniquelyU. platform. I am proud to be part of a new model of education. Register here at FindUniquelyU.com

We are going to use the power of evocative poetry to summon complex emotions within us and intentionally direct them. We will summon our emotions, learn to understand them and express them through the power of creativity utilizing watercolors and writing.

Emotions have a way of transporting us to new experiences.

Emotions are such powerful vehicles; yet, without intentional steering, they have the potential to take over our personal journeys, leaving us feeling uprooted and ungrounded in our lives.

Examples of this are the emotional journeys set in motion by recent events, news stories, our relationships, and traumatic events.

But — what if we were on the driver's side of our emotional journey and harnessed the power of our emotions with intention? What if we allowed ourselves to take the power of our deep emotions and use them for a purpose (releasing, reconnecting with our inner wisdom, and creating something new in our lives).

The purpose of this class is to do just that. We are going to use the power of evocative poetry to summon complex emotions within us and intentionally direct them. We will summon our emotions, learn to understand them and express them through the power of creativity utilizing watercolors and writing.

This 4-hr workshop will be an opportunity for us to advance our emotional vocabulary and take back ownership of our feelings.

We will recognize when we have been moved off our emotional center by establishing an emotional set point. From there, we will create our emotional scale and understand when it is time to pause and release the overwhelm of emotional overload. We will then use the power of our emotions and direct them into creative containers (painting and writing) to release overwhelm and enhance our creativity.

THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU IF...

• You feel overwhelmed by your feelings.
• You feel that complex feelings are leaving you feeling hopeless.
• You feel a growing sense of anxiety.
• You are ready to take back the reins on the power of your own emotions.
• You want to feel optimistic.
• You want to discern what feelings are truly yours vs what feelings you are being directed to feel.
• You want to reignite your creative spark.
• You want to use the power of creativity to enhance your well-being.

Unraveling the Self (August)

This three-hour workshop is on Saturday, August 20th from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM CST and is hosted on the newly created UniquelyU. platform. I am proud to be part of a new model of education. Register here at FindUniquelyU.com

Through the use of meditation and the art-making process, we will work to identify markers of personal identity and expression that were externally placed/reinforced.

Together, we will utilize meditation and creativity (writing, drawing and collage) to release these outdated models of self-identity and call in a sense of self that is in more alignment with who we believe we are vs how we were told to be.

The ownership of identity and self-expression are underutilized in a world where labels and stereotypes are the norms. Together, we will seek to rebuild our identity and ask questions like:

Who are you without your labels?
Who are you without a body, a name, and a location to define you?
What is the essence of you?

Upon completion of this workshop you will begin to connect to core values and feelings unique to you and begin to rebuild your identity on elements you place with intention.

THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU IF...

• Your external world does not reflect your internal world.
• You feel like you are existing vs living.
• You look around your life and you don’t feel you are where you want to be.
• You feel overwhelmed by your current life experience.
• You find yourself seeking out approval as validation.
• You feel if you are “not enough”.
• You often feel disconnected from yourself and your body.
• You feel like you are ready to break free and discover the real you.
